PORT ARTHUR — Three people were injured, one critically, during a house fire in Port Arthur on Friday.
The fire occurred about 11:44 a.m. Nov. 20 at 4246 Fourth St.
Upon arrival firefighters met with two women suffering from smoke inhalation. The women were transported to Christus Hospital-St. Mary where one is listed in stable condition and the other in serious condition, according to a press release from Port Arthur Fire Department.
During a primary search of the structure firefighters found a man in the rear of the home. The victim was removed from the structure and State-Care EMS began treatment. He was transferred to Christus Hospital- St.Elizabeth in Beaumont and is in critical condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the arson division of the Port Arthur Fire Department. The department responded with three engines, one ladder truck and two battalion chiefs.
