BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Emergency personnel in Beaumont rescued a man from a garbage truck where he apparently was dumped along with mounds of trash.
The man was conscious when he was seen being rescued Monday morning after the driver called 911 to report someone was yelling for help from inside the trash truck.
Triangle Waste owner Donovan Weldon says the driver had been picking up commercial waste and the man, believed to be homeless, apparently had been sleeping in a bin.
Several bins were emptied into the truck and compacted by the time the man was discovered. The driver also says he noticed someone had been throwing trash from the truck.
The condition of the rescued man, who was transported to a Beaumont hospital, was not immediately available.
