GROVES —
McDonald’s restaurant on Twin City Highway in Groves may be down but it’s not out.
Angie Arrington, marketing director for the local Groves McDonald’s, said a new updated and larger facility is under construction.
“The previous store was building in 1984 and it’s definitely time for renovation and to bring a new modern store to the area,” Arrington said. “We are increasing the square footage by 2000-square feet and are installing a double-drive through.”
The menu will not change, she said but there will be a new digital high-resolution billboard added displaying the specials
The new restaurant will feature earth tones and be more inviting and comfortable environment to hang-out in, she added.
The restaurant will be hiring several weeks before opening. More information will be made available as the opening of the state-of-the-art facility nears.
Steve Sanborn, building officials with the city of Groves, said the building was razed around Feb. 11 and there is a 90-day contract in place for the rebuild.
Completion of the facility is expected in early June.
