Abolishing the Pleasure Island Commission and adding better trained employees to the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation staff headed a laundry list of recommendations provided by The Mercer Group Wednesday.
Port Arthur’s City Council met with representatives of The Mercer Group Wednesday for most of the day to hear details of a long-awaited management and performance review commissioned by the city months ago.
“We took longer to do this study. Your city is pretty complex,” Jim Mercer, president and founder of the Santa Fe, N.M.- based management firm, said.
The report was still in its final draft form, and had room for changes, Mercer said.
