PORT ARTHUR — A woman was air lifted to a local hospital for injuries received during an auto pedestrian accident Friday morning.
At about 5:45 a.m., Port Arthur Police Officers responded to the accident in the 7200 block of Ninth Avenue. Upon investigation it appears a vehicle was traveling south in the 7200 block of Ninth Avenue when a pedestrian, walking in the roadway, was truck. The driver of the vehicle advised police he did not see the woman and was unsure of her exact location prior to the accident, according to a press release from the PAPD.
Police said the driver did not appear impaired in any way at the time of the accident. The names of the subjects involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.
The PAPD Major Accident team is investigating the accident.
