Three alleged robberies, one reported kidnapping and a Rooty Tooty Fresh N’ Fruity breakfast later a couple found themselves in police custody early Thursday morning.
According to the Port Arthur Police Department, three separate robberies were committed by the same couple Wednesday night.
The first incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. at Arthur’s Pub, a popular hangout on Texas 73 inside the Ramada Hotel.
A man notified officers that he was robbed at knife-point by a man outside the bar.
A few minutes later another man called the police department to say he was robbed at gunpoint by a man at the Side Pocket Lounge, located at 3601 Twin City Hwy.
At approximately 11:35 p.m., PAPD said they received yet another phone call about a robbery that happened at the Ceja Club at 6630 Gulfway Drive.
According to the victim, he was kidnapped by an armed suspect and forced into a vehicle. The man said he was assaulted and robbed during the ordeal.
He added that after he was robbed, he was ordered to remove all of his clothing and forced out of the vehicle at Jonathan’s Inn in Groves.
The victim was able to give officers a clear description of his attackers and the suspect’s vehicle.
A short time later, officers discovered the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the IHOP restaurant on U.S. 69 in Port Arthur.
Officers staked out the parking lot and apprehended a male and female suspect as they exited the restaurant a few minutes later.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, according to PAPD.
The pair was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where they were booked on two counts of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping.
