BEAUMONT — Deputies from the Jefferson County Felony Fugitive Division and agents from the local U.S. Marshall's Office arrested capital murder suspect Batiste Breaux Thursday night in Houston.
Law Enforcement developed information that Breaux was in Houston and followed up on those leads He was arrested walking along a roadway without incident.
He will be arraigned and brought to the Beaumont Police Department sometime in the early morning hours Friday for questioning before being taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
This manhunt has been a huge cooperative effort by local, state and federal agencies.
Batiste Breaux Jr. is accused of a triple shooting/double homicide that occurred about 11:46 p.m. Aug. 5 at a home located at 4625 Ironton. The three victims were transported to a local hospital where Kelly Evans, 25, and his brother, Gerald Evans, 27, were pronounced dead. Kelly Evans was killed on his birthday. The third victim, a 24 year old Beaumont man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds
