Port Arthur Police Maj. Raymond Clark said Jimmy Joseph Desormeaux has been uncooperative with sharing information about his time with Summer Bourque.
“Mr. Desormeaux has not been cooperative with us,” Clark said. “We have overly stressed to him that there are no warrants for him. We just want to talk to him. He does not want to cooperate at all. We’ve given him opportunities. We’ve given him several opportunities to just meet with him at some location of his naming. He has declined that.”
Clark said the department has had “no cooperation” and “a set of circumstances that has heightened our suspicion.”
“There is no forensic evidence to link him to her murder at this time,” Clark said.
Bourque’s body was discovered Aug. 13 in a waterway by employees of at the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Refuge off Texas 73. The Nederland woman was last seen leaving Dylan’s Bar and Grill in Port Arthur on Aug. 10. Surveillance video obtained by police from Dylan’s shows Bourque leaving the restaurant/bar with a man identified as Jimmy Joseph Desormeaux, 43. Bourque was buried Monday.
“We can’t legally hold him for anything. We want to clear up loose ends and find out what happened,” Clark said.
Desormeaux called a Port Arthur Police officer Monday, but refused to meet and talk with police, Clark said.
“We have made our cell phones available to him,” Clark said.
Clark said Desormeaux said that he had, en essence, nothing to do with death.
“If that’s the case, no problem,” Clark said.
“Anyone who sees him or has contact with him should have him give us a call,” Clark said.
Tee number is 983-8600.
