PORT ARTHUR — Officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched at 10:16 p.m., Thursday to Prince Hall Apartments, 800 W. 14th St. in reference to a shooting according to a press release.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims with gunshot wounds. These two victims were both transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for their injuries. One of the victims was pronounced deceased and the other is listed in stable condition.
After speaking with witnesses, officers were able to gather suspect information and provided it to the Beaumont Police Department. Officers with the Beaumont Police Department located the suspect in Beaumont and were able to place him into custody. After being transported back to Port Arthur for questioning, the suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending next of kin notification. This case remains under investigation by the PAPD’s Major Crime Team.

Tall, dark and handcuffed; Robber caught in Beaumont
A man suspected in the robbery of two Beaumont banks was apprehended outside Parkdale Mall on Wednesday.
The “tall, dark, handsome” robber is facing federal bank robbery charges for the Beaumont incidents and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Houston is in the process of obtaining a warrant for a Houston bank robbery.
The suspect has been identified as John “Steven” Stark, 46.
Police responded to a call of a robbery about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Prosperity Bank, 6150 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont. -
