PORT ARTHUR — Officers of the Port Arthur Police Department responded to a burglary of a habitation call at 7:52 p.m. at a residence in the 800 block of South Winds Ave. on Pleasure Island.
A resident of the neighborhood called and reported a male subject had entered one of the homes. The homeowner was not home due to storm damage cause by Hurricane Ike. A second female subject waited in a vehicle on the street.
The person calling the police alerted the actors and they fled on foot. They were stopped a few minutes later and arrested for burglary of a habitation. This incident remains under investigation by the PAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division.
