Port Arthur police believe that a Corpus Christi contractor, working in Port Arthur, was stealing appliances from his worksite and selling the items to Bridge City residents.
Det. Darren Johnson said the appliances were reportedly taken from Villa Main apartment complex, where he was doing hurricane repair work, on Christmas Day. A tip led police to a residence in Bridge City where the items were recovered.
Johnson said the man made a statement to police on Dec. 26.
