BEAUMONT — Two men are behind bars on a charge of aggravated robbery of Whataburger that occurred on Monday.
Beaumont Police responded to the area of East Lucas and Eastex Freeway about 2:30 a.m., Jan. 12, in relation to a robbery that had just occurred with a witness following the suspects. Officers located three suspects in a dark colored SUV at Exxon at Kennedy and Phelan.
The witness identified two of the suspects as the ones who robbed them at a store on the corner of Lucas and Concord.
Police said, according to the witnesses, one of the suspects asked for some gas money while the other suspect jumped in the car with the victim and threatened the witnesses with a pair of scissors. After getting the victim’s money the suspects jumped into the dark SUV and fled the scene.
Officers recovered a pair of scissors they believe were used in the robbery as well as the money that was taken.
The suspects were identified as Andrea Jamal Sias, 25, and Wesley James Shuler, 31, both of Beaumont. They were questioned by detectives and then booked into the Jefferson County Jail for aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.
