A caravan of motorcycle lovers revved up in a funeral procession to honor Glenn Patrick “Pat” Boudreaux.
Dozens of bikers escorted his body Tuesday morning, in a windowed box revealing his Harley Davidson casket, from Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
“Everybody he came in contact with was a friend,” said Gary L. Wagner of the Patriot Guard riders.
Boudreaux, 61, of Port Neches, died Friday. He retired from the Huntsman Corporation in Port Neches as a training coordinator and was a lifetime member and past director of the Harley Owners Group, Cowboy Chapter, in Beaumont.
At the church, Wagner, of Vidor, mingled with riders from several groups who joined the procession.
“I counted 89 bikes,” Wagner said, while unfurling an American flag on his own motorcycle.
He said the bikers would also follow the casket to the burial site at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Wagner said the riders gather for funerals “whenever asked.”
Boudreaux is survived by his wife, Kathy Boudreaux of Port Neches; his daughters, Crystal Segura and husband Kyle of Port Neches, and Desha Jordan and husband Tommy of Port Neches; his step-daughter, Rochelle Hernandez of Houston; his step-son, Richie Hernandez and wife Tammy of Silsbee; his sisters, Debi Yu and husband Frank of Port Arthur, and Lynn Hollier and husband Kurt of Hillister; his brother, Mike Boudreaux and wife Karin of Nederland; and seven grandchildren, Kyler Segura, Konner Segura, Miranda Girouard, Payton Jordan, T. J. Jordan, Kody Hernandez, Haden Hernandez.
