Groves Police calls, March 21 through March 27

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from March 21 through March 27



Wednesday, March 21

• A disturbance was investigated in the 3700 block of Boyd.

• An unknown vehicle struck a vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Oak Drive and then left the scene.

• A black Taurus 9mm handgun was stolen from a house in the 2700 block of First Avenue.



Thursday, March 22

• A tool box, generator and weed eater were stolen from the 2200 block of Little John.

• A citizen was scammed out of more than $3,000 by a phone caller claiming to be a relative needing money.

• A carry-on utility trailer was stolen from the 4300 block of Wilson.

• A disturbance was investigated in the 3700 block of Hayes.



Friday, March 23

• A 2003 Cadillac Deville was stolen from the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive and was recovered later in Port Arthur.

• A black Rugby cell phone was stolen from the 5000 block of 32nd Street.

• Beer was stolen from a business in the 3900 block of Pure Atlantic.



Saturday, March 24

• A JVC CD player was stolen from a vehicle in the 6200 block of Howe.

• A GPS was stolen from a vehicle in the 6200 block of Howe.

• A 43-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants and possession of a controlled substance in the 5600 block of Carolina.

• A Pioneer CD player was stolen from a vehicle in the 3100 block of North.

• Copper was stolen from the 3100 block of Elm.



Sunday, March 25

• A 61-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 4700 block of Twin City Highway.

• A 45-year-old female was arrested for DWI in the 1900 block of Orange Acres.

• An unknown type red vehicle hit a vehicle parked in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive and then left the scene.

• A 50-inch LG flat screen TV was stolen from the 4200 block of Taft.

• A disturbance was reported in the 3600 block of Main Avenue.

• A 30-year-old male was arrested for fail to identify in the 6800 block of Whitby after officers were called to a disturbance.



Monday, March 26

• Cash and tools were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Warren.

• An assault was reported in the 5200 block of Wilson.

• A disturbance was investigated in the 3900 block of Cleveland.

• A 29-year-old male was arrested for DWI in the 4800 block of Pure Atlantic Road.



Tuesday, March 27

• A 19-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Pure Atlantic Road.

• Someone stole a license plate off of a utility trailer in the 6600 block of Plaza.

• A Stihl chainsaw was stolen in the 3300 block of Lay Avenue.

• A disturbance was investigated in the 6200 block of 39th Street.

• A person’s identity was used to file a false income tax return.
