NEDERLAND —
The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is celebrating the grand opening of its newest facility — the Sleep Center.
The Sleep Center, 2600 FM 365 in Nederland, is located at a section of what once was Mid-Jefferson Hospital.
Officials with The Medical Center were joined by staff and members of the Nederland, Port Neches and Port Arthur chambers of commerce at the ribbon cutting Tuesday afternoon.
Chief Operating Officer Chris McMahon said the idea for the facility was born more than two years ago. And now, with lots of hard work, the idea came to fruition.
The facility sports state of the art equipment and the rooms have a decor much like the furniture found at home or a hotel.
Stefanie Wolfford, director of business development, said the facility accepts all types of insurance and is centrally located to better serve families.
“I have heard people say they’ve had a sleep test in the past and it was horrible, they’d never do it again,” Wolfford said. “This is different.”
