PORT NECHES —
Preliminary results from a month-long survey of patrons visiting the splash park in Port Neches will be presented to council members this week.
Several part-time persons have had the task of polling park patrons seeking information such as group size, number of adults/children, zip code and visits per month to the various sections of the whole park including Port Neches Riverfront Park, Tug Boat Island and the splash park, according to information from the city. The survey also included open sections asking how the patrons learned about the splash park, ranking the park and listing an improvement the person would like to see at the park.
Port Neches City Manager Andrè Wimer said the survey started about four weeks ago at the request of city council. The interim data will be presented to council through July 4 during the 4 p.m. meeting Thursday, July 12 at city hall.
The surveying itself will continue through the remainder of the summer.
“We have had part time folks administer the survey at various times of the day,” Wimer said. “The hours are varied and the survey was administered all seven days of the week, not just on weekends but weekdays as well.”
