• Arson was reported in the 2200 block of Sixth Street.
• Criminal mischief was reported in the 800 block of Ridgewood.
Wednesday, July 11
• Theft was reported in the 700 block of Royal.
Thursday, July 12
No reports.
Friday, July 13
• Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported in the 3100 block of Merriman.
• Identity theft was reported in the 2300 block of Third Street.
• Identity theft was reported in the 2700 block of Riveroaks Drive.
Saturday, July 14
No reports.
Sunday, July 15
• A person was arrested for assault in the 600 block of Birchwood.
• A person was arrested for warrants in the 2200 block of Sixth Street.
• A person was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants in the 2700 block of Merriman.
• An officer investigated a report of information in the 700 block of Grigsby.
• An assault was reported in the 2100 block of Merriman.
• Harassment was reported in the 1000 block of MacArthur.
Monday, July 16
• Criminal mischief in the 1200 block of Magnolia.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 300 block of Grigsby.
• Leaving the scene of an accident was reported in the 1700 block of Magnolia.

“A person does not change their character overnight,” said Veazey, a retired Port Arthur Independent School District teacher. “We do not accept that she just walked into a room and started beating on a kid. Her students are her life. She wouldn’t do that.”
