No arrests in Vidor sibling shooting

VIDOR — A dispute between two brothers in Vidor left one man with shotgun wounds.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, May 17, concerning a possible stabbing and shooting in the 1700 block of Ricky Lane in Vidor.

Upon arrival deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The gunshot victim was identified as Adrian Guidry, 34, of Vidor. Guidry was transported to Christus Hospital- St. Elizabeth in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance, according to a press release from Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators determined that the incident occurred inside a residence in the 1700 block of Ricky Lane.  The resident, Christopher Kelly, told deputies that he was at home when his brother, Adrian Guidry, came to the location and forced his way into the residence. Once inside the house Adrian began to threaten him about an incident from earlier in the evening.  The two brothers began fighting inside the residence and then Guidry reportedly attempted to stab Kelly, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly reportedly was able to grab a shotgun that was near his location and fired the shotgun, which had been loaded with rubber bullets, striking Guidry in the left leg.  Investigators spoke with Guidry at the hospital about the incident and according to emergency room personnel; Guidry was going to undergo surgery to remove the shotgun pellets from his leg.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in this case.
