Groves Police calls, Aug. 22 through Aug. 28

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Aug. 22 through Aug. 28



Wednesday, Aug. 22

• A 21-year-old female was arrested for failure to identify, resisting arrest and public intoxication after officers were called to the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive in reference to a disturbance.

• A 27-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants after officers were called to the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• Two men forced open the door on a house in the 5500 block of Hogaboom and then produced a knife to the homeowner. A 21-inch TV was stolen, but was recovered after one of the men dropped it outside.

• A disturbance was reported in the 5700 block of Monroe.

• A blue and green bag containing assorted tools were stolen from a vehicle in the 3000 block of Elm.

• Three vehicles were broken in to in the 3000 block of Elm. Nothing appeared to be missing.

• Ten rod and reels valued at approximately $1,000 were stolen from a garage in the 7000 block of Leonard. The rod and reels were on a round wooden rack which was taken also.

• A ladies’ brown snake skin wallet containing cash was stolen from a shopping cart in a business in the 5000 block of 32nd Street. The victim reported that the thief brought the wallet back to her residence and placed it in her mail box. Everything was still inside the wallet except for the cash.

• A red 2002 Pontiac Grand Am four door was stolen from the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

 

Thursday, Aug. 23

• Two minors were found to be in possession of tobacco products in the 6800 block of 39th Street.

• A ladies’ purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 4700 block of Twin City Highway.

• A red Murray 22-inch push lawn mower was stolen from the 2400 block of Owens.

• Someone spray painted graffiti on a building in the 3000 block of Oak.

• An assault was reported in the 3200 block of Hickory.

• A harassment report was made.

 

Friday, Aug. 24

• A .40 caliber Sig-Sauer pistol was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6900 block of Washington.

• A 28-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding Orange County warrant in the 7100 block of Terrell.

• A 125cc Yamaha dirt bike was stolen from the 3500 block of Cleveland and was later recovered.

• A dog bite was reported in the 5200 block of 33rd Street.

• A 21-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 5800 block of 39th Street after a traffic stop.

 

Saturday, Aug. 25

• Officers responded to a noise complaint in the 6300 block of Plaza. A 23-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Port Neches warrants.

• An Acer laptop computer was stolen from the 6200 block of Monroe.

 

Sunday, Aug. 26

• A 27-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Groves warrants in the 2600 block of Taft.

• A 20-year-old female was arrested for DWI in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive after a traffic stop.

• The report of a threat was made.

• A 25-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County warrants in the 5100 block of Hogaboom.

• A small dog was bitten by a larger dog in the 6400 block of Gonzales.

• The report of harassment was made.

• A 19-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County warrants in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• A red Samsung camcorder and prescription medication was stolen from the 6200 block of Jackson.

 

Monday, Aug. 27

• Cash and a Bell-Howell digital camera were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Val.

• Two packs of cigarettes were stolen from a vehicle in the 6400 block of Val.

• A black Iphone with a purple cover was stolen from a vehicle in the 6400 block of Val.

• Loose change was stolen from a vehicle in the 6300 block of Val.

• Several unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A Browning 22.250 with scope, Colt 45 pistol and a Highstander .22 revolver were stolen from the 5000 block of Bay. Three purses were also reported missing.

• A disturbance was reported in the 5700 block of Hogaboom.

• A Verizon LG cell phone was stolen from the 5700 block of Hogaboom.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 28

• An 18-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants in the 6300 block of Verde.

• A 52-inch Sanyo flat screen TV and DVD’s were stolen from an apartment in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• The report of telephone harassment was made.

• Someone threw eggs on a vehicle in the 6300 block of Jackson.

• A 36-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Rusk County warrants after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Main.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported after someone spray painted and scratched the vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Oak.
