PORT ARTHUR —
A woman was robbed at gunpoint as she was leaving church in Port Arthur on Sunday afternoon.
Police received a call of a robbery at about 6:27 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 in the 1700 block of Seventh Street. The female victim told officers that she had just walked out of her church when she was approached by a male she believed to be in his early 20’s, according to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department.
The man spoke briefly t the victim and then pointed a small black handgun toward her. He then grabbed her purse and fled on foot. The suspect ran around the corner and got into the driver’s seat of a small red vehicle and fled the scene.
Officers searched the area but did not locate a suspect.
