PORT ARTHUR —
The family of a Port Arthur woman who was found murdered in her home last year is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for her death.
Dozetta Vertnell Roberts, 45, was found stabbed to death at her home at Carver Terrace Apartments on July 9, 2011. A relative of Roberts was checking on her after the woman did not show up at work. Roberts’ vehicle was found at the apartment complex but the doors to the apartment were locked, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department. The relative alerted a maintenance person to open the door to check on Roberts’ welfare and once inside found Roberts deceased inside the apartment and notified the police.
Robert Greer, Robert’s father, is offering the $1,000 reward, he said.
Samantha Marsh, the victims sister, said Roberts was the mother of two and grandmother of four. She is described as a quiet person who loved to dance and a very friendly person.
Persons with information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the murder can call Port Arthur Police Department at 983-8600 and ask for the criminal investigations division.
