The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a freeze warning which is in effect from 2 to 8 a.m. Sunday for southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana.
Overnight temperatures will drop to around 30 to 32 degrees for about three hours before sunrise, according to the NWS.
A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. People should take measures to protect plants by covering them or bringing them inside. Pets should be protected or moved indoors.
Be careful heating your home. Space heaters need to be kept 36 inches away from anything that can burn. Turn it off when you leave the room or go to bed.

“A person does not change their character overnight,” said Veazey, a retired Port Arthur Independent School District teacher. “We do not accept that she just walked into a room and started beating on a kid. Her students are her life. She wouldn’t do that.”
