PORT ARTHUR —
Port Arthur Police are searching for two men who robbed a Gulfway Drive store Monday night.
Police responded to a 911 call of a robbery in progress at about 8:34 p.m. Jan. 7 at Scalco’s Food Store, 749 Gulfway Drive. Officers arrived and learned that two black males armed with handguns entered the store. One pointed a handgun at the clerk and the other suspect pointed a handgun at another employee, according to a press release from PAPD.
One of the suspects then jumped the counter and took money from the cash register and both suspects fled on foot. No one was injured and the suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
