Groves Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 23 through Jan. 29
Wednesday, Jan. 23
• An assault was reported in the 6200 block of 25th Street.
• Burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 2100 block of Perry.
Thursday, Jan. 24
• A Tom Tom GPS and a Texas A&M backpack were stolen from a vehicle in the 5900 block of David.
• Burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 3000 block of Ruby.
• A stolen vehicle was found in the 6700 block of 25th Street.
• Cruelty to animals was reported in the 6900 block of Washington after a dog was found to have been shot with a pellet gun and sustained an injury.
• Charges were filed for theft at a business in the 6000 block of 39th Street.
• An assault was reported in the 2900 block of Terrace.
• A 33-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County warrants after officers were called about a suspicious person in the 2700 block of Montrose.
• A theft was reported in the 3700 block of Suncrest.
Friday, Jan. 25
• Theft of electricity was reported in the 3900 block of Hays.
• Checks were forged at a business in the 6000 block of 39th Street.
• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
• A 40-inch Magnavox flat screen TV and digital converter box were stolen from the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A business check was forged in the amount of $10,000.00.
• An assault was reported in the 6100 block of 25th Street.
• A pair of headphones were stolen from the 5200 block of Wilson, but were later recovered.
Saturday, Jan. 26
• A 33-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5400 block of Gulfway Drive.
• The report of a threat was made.
• A 20-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3500 block of Texas 73.
• A vehicle battery and a GPS system were stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Lay.
• A Jensen CD player with a 7” screen was stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Kleespies.
• The report of a missing person was made and then canceled when the person returned home.
• A vehicle was hit by another vehicle that left the scene in the area of Hogaboom and Garfield.
• A Green Machine three-wheel tricycle was stolen from the 6700 block of 25th Street.
• A disturbance was reported in the 6800 block of Camden Lane.
Sunday, Jan. 27
• A 26-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 2300 block of East Parkway.
• Criminal mischief was reported when eggs were thrown on two vehicles parked in the 6500 block of Howe.
• A criminal trespass warning notice was issued to a person in the 5300 block of Green.
• An assault was reported in the 5500 block of 39th Street.
• Three flat screen TV’s, game consoles, assorted jewelry and a Sony digital camera were stolen from a house in the 6300 block of Warren.
Monday, Jan. 28
• Three people were arrested on outstanding warrants after officers were called to the 6700 block of 25th Street in reference to a disturbance.
• An assault was reported in the 3600 block of Main.
• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
• A 9mm pistol in a black canvas holster and bullets and a 101-piece Stanley tool set were stolen from the 4500 block of Cleveland.
• A runaway was reported and later returned.
• Someone cut a tire on a vehicle in the 6500 block of Howe.
• A 30-year-old male was arrested for fail to identify in the 5000 block of 32nd Street.
• A disturbance was reported in the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
• A victim reported that someone forged a check in his name.
• A 29-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding Jefferson County warrant in the 6100 block of 39th Street.
