A 79-year-old man mowing his grass on Friday stepped into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle and killed.
Port Arthur Police responded to the incident at about 9 a.m. Dec. 14 in the 2200 block of Cedar Street. Police learned that Walter Hulin was mowing his grass near the roadway on Cedar Street and stepped into the roadway and was struck by a 2006 Ford truck.
The driver of the truck was identified as a 76-year-old man, also from the Port Acres area of town.
The case is under investigation by PAPD’s Advanced Accident Investigation Team.
Services for Hulin are pending at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
