BEAUMONT —
Beaumont Fire Rescue responding to a dumpster fire made a gruesome discovery in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
Crews were on scene at about 2:16 a.m. Feb. 26 at 550 W. Cardinal Drive and when firefighters extinguished the fire they found a body in the dumpster.
The business was closed at the time of the fire and the fire was reported by a neighbor, according to a press release from Beaumont Police Department. Fire and Police investigators were still on the scene conducting a joint investigation as to the cause of the fire and the cause of death at noon.
The body was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy as ordered by Judge Jones. There is no identification of the victim at this time. The dumpster has been transported to the Jefferson County Crime Lab for technicians to check the contents.
