Groves Police blotter for the week of Aug. 11 to Aug. 17:

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Aug. 11 to Aug. 17:



Wednesday, Aug. 11

• Identify theft was reported.

• An assault was reported in the 6800 block of 25th Street after a disturbance.

• Unauthorized checks were passed on a checking account.

• A criminal trespass warning was issued.

 

Thursday, Aug. 12

• A 31-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 5100 block of 25th Street.

• A 27-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3800 block of Canal.

• A 29-year-old female was arrested for public intoxication in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• A 17-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Howe.

• A 23-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a disturbance was reported in the 6200 block of Dave.

• A computer, cameras, cash, jewelry and electronics were stolen from a house in the 2400 block of Owens.

• All four tires were cut on a vehicle parked in the 3800 block of Doyle

• A 2008 Honda Civic was stolen from the 5300 block of Whitaker. It was recovered after it was involved in a traffic accident.

 

Friday, Aug. 13

• A 25-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5600 block of 32nd  Street.

• A 33-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Taft.

• Someone damaged two change machines in the 5300 block of 39th Street.

 

Saturday, Aug. 14

• A 32-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A Samsung Ruger cell phone was stolen from the 4500 block of Roosevelt.

• An assault was reported in the 4500 block of Roosevelt.

• A 24-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants on West Parkway.

 

Sunday, Aug. 15

• A 21-year-old female was arrested for public intoxication in the 5200 block of Gulf.

• A 20-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 5200 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A 25-year-old female was arrested for assault in the 2900 block of Maple.

• A 28-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 4200 block of Twin City Highway.

• An assault report was made in the 3900 block of Taft.

• An assault report was made in the 4600 block of Boyd.

 

Monday, Aug. 16

• A 17-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 6000 block of East Parkway.

• A 35-year-old female was arrested for disorderly conduct language in the 2600 block of Second Avenue.

• A 32-inch Samsung flat screen TV was stolen from the 5700 block of Monroe.

• A 52-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A disturbance was reported in the 3000 block of South.

• Someone stole a Playstation III and games, an X-box 360 with games and a 40-inch Samsung flat screen TV from the 3100 block of Graves.

• A black CD case containing approximately 500 CD’s were stolen from the 3900 block of Canal.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 17


• A 17-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 3900 block of Main Avenue.

• A 16-year-old male was in possession of drug paraphernalia in the 4000 block of Main.

• A car battery was thrown through a door to gain entry to a business in the 2600 block of Main. Once inside, the actors stole approximately 15 tobacco pipes.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Refrain from using your cell phone or any other distraction while around school zones. This common-sense advice really applies whenever a motorist is behind the wheel, but especially when in a driving situation around young children and their perhaps spontaneous actions.
