GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 13-19:

Wednesday, Jan. 13
• A 34-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3100 block of Cherry.
• A 25-year -old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 6000 block of Twin City Highway.
• A 29-year-old female was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 3200 block of Gulfway Drive.
• Forged checks were passed in the 6000 block of 39th Street.
• Someone broke a window to gain entry to a parked vehicle and stole a Tom Tom GPS from the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.,
• A 42” LG flat screen TV was stolen from the 3200 block of Taft.
• Cash was stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Woodlawn.

Thursday, Jan. 14
• A 26-year-old male was stopped for multiple traffic violations and was subsequently arrested for failure to identify, fugitive give false/fictitious information and outstanding warrants in the 3900 block of Twin City Highway.
• A 17-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants and was cited for possession of tobacco in the 2600 block of Main.
• A 9mm Glock and cash were stolen from a house in the 3700 block of Kinard.
• Someone has damaged the restroom at Lion’s park in the 6200 block of Jackson.

Friday, Jan. 15
• A 26-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
• A 22-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3200 block of Twin City Highway.
• A Sony AM/FM CD player and two 12-inch Memphis speakers were stolen from a vehicle in the 5300 block of West Groves Circle.
• A Pioneer AM/FM/CD/GPS stereo, Pioneer radio receiver and an Apple Ipod were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4800 block of Lawndale.
• A male stole two cartons of Bud Lite beer from a business in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway.
• Someone stole a Makita cordless drill with case and drill bits from the open bed of a truck in the 3100 block of South.
• A disturbance was reported in the 2900 block of Oak.

Saturday, Jan. 16
• A 19-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 5100 block of East Parkway.
• A 53-year-old male was arrested in the 3000 block of Boyd.

Sunday, Jan. 17
• A JVC AM/FM CD player was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4400 block of Lawndale.
• A black and blue boy’s 20-inch Haro Forum bicycle from the front porch of a residence in the 7200 block of Terrell.
• Windows were broken out on a vehicle in the 6200 block of Warren.
• Suspects in a dark colored Chevrolet Avalanche were detained in reference to someone shooting paint balls at a residence in the 6300 block of Van Buren.
• A 26-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 3900 block of Pure Atlantic.
• A 19-year-old male was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the 5100 block of Cleveland.

Monday, Jan. 18
• A 33-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 3200 block of Texas 73.
• Someone broke a window on a vehicle parked in the 5000 block of Monroe.
• Someone drove through a yard causing ruts in the 6400 block of Taylor.
• A chrome paint ball gun and four 17-inch gray wheels and tires were stolen from the 2700 block of Second Avenue.

Tuesday, Jan. 19

TIP OF THE WEEK
Phishing scams can occur through e-mail or letter indicating in that you have won a lottery. The letter/e-mail indicates that you have won this lottery, usually from some foreign country and all you have to do is either send them a “nominal” fee to cover taxes and they will forward the money. Other times they will send you a cashiers check for you to cash with a request to send them back a portion to cover these taxes/handling fees. These checks are counterfeit and like the letters/e-mails, will most likely contain grammatical errors.
