Bro. Tom Brown 80 of Jasper died peacefully at his home on Wednesday July 11, 2012, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Forest Oaks Funeral Home with interment to follow at the West Oaks Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Friday July 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., when there will be a Celebration of Life at the funeral home.
Thomas Edgar Brown Jr. was born to Thomas Edgar Sr.and Annie Mae Brown on October 25, 1931, in Timpson, TX. He married Rhoda Jean (Weatherly) Brown, Feb. 5, 1949. Bro. Tom retired from Texaco in Port Arthur, TX after 35 years. He pastored churches for over 52 years, including 13th St., Stonegate Missionary Baptist Churches in Pt. Arthur, TX and Nedville Missionary Baptist in Jasper, TX where he was currently pastoring.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Brown. One son, Paul Brown and wife Martha of Orange, TX, and two daughters, Liz Elliott and husband Joe of Nederland, TX, and Vicki Bunch and husband Felix of Jasper, TX. Grandchildren Mark, Kelly, Rick, Shane, David,Carlene and Rachelle. Thirteen Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Caregiver Debbie Dean of Hillister, TX. and a Special Friend Mozelle Barnett of Kirbyville, TX.
