PORT ARTHUR — Richard W. Jackson departed this life on April 23, 2012 at Harbor Hospice. A native of Lake Charles, LA, he was a resident of Port Arthur for 71 years. He retired from Star Enterprise after 42 years of service. He served in the United States Army and the Reserves. As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees, the Board of Elders and was a member of the choir. He was well known in the community for his “counseling services” as he always had some advice or words of encouragement to offer to others. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories his wife, Rosa L. Jackson; his six sons, Roland “Candy” Jackson (Sheila), Ronald Jackson both of Port Arthur, TX, Byron Jackson (Satour) of Austin, TX, Michael Jackson (Lisa), Tyrone Jackson (Emily) both of Beaumont, TX, Alvin Jackson of Groves, TX; one daughter, Josaline Jackson of Beaumont, TX; three sisters, Evelyn Green of Lake Charles, LA, Vivian Bobb and Ida Fontenot both of Port Arthur, TX; three brothers, Joseph Sinegal (Jackie) and James Sinegal (LeMurial) both of Port Arthur, TX and John Sinegal (Rose) of San Antonio, TX; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with a viewing from 12 Noon until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
