Robert C. Ross
GROVES — Robert C. Ross, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away March 10, 2010 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born December 8, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Volney and Helen Lattipi Ross. He was a resident of Groves for over 50 years and served his county in the U. S. Army during World War II as a Tech. Sgt. 2801 Combat Engineer. He was a member of the VFW Post 797, the American Legion, and the Elks Club.
He was the loving husband of Mary Holmes Ross of Groves; devoted father of Mickey Ross of Port Arthur; brother of Maurice Ross of Nederland and Helen Bass of Beauxart Gardens; cherished grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Risa Hill, Rachel Shults, Roger Ross, and 4 great-grandchildren; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Rev. Mike Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, Rodney Landry funeral director.
