PORT ARTHUR —
Herman Washington, 82 of Port Arthur, TX died at home Friday. He was a native of Cade, LA and was a resident of Port Arthur. He was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Mary Catholic Church and served 50 years as an usher. He retired from Gulf Utilities Company and retired from Star Enterprise with 22 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lulu Washington and Dora K. Washington; Brothers Gus, Sr., Clarence, Alfred, George, and Freddie Washington; and sisters Florence Thibodeaux and Margaret Hypolite.
He is survived by his beloved friend Herbie Grant; daughter Beverly Washington; daughter Beverly Washington; two granddaughters Samantha Marsh and Danette Kirklin; three sisters Hilda Sam (Edward) of St. Martinville, LA, Gladys Simmons of Galveston, TX, and Cecilia Gregg of Hitchcock, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday 16 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart/St. Mary Catholic Church in Port Arthur with services beginning at 10 a.m. under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
