Lindbergh Williams of Los Angeles, CA went home to be with the Lord February 6, 2012. He was born May 5, 1930 in Doucette, Texas to Faye McCoy and Leroy Williams (both deceased). He was reared by his grandmother, Mrs. Carrie McCoy.
Lindbergh received his high school diploma from Doucette High School in Doucette, Texas and later joined the United States Marine Corps and retired in 1977 after serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a graduate of San Diego State University and retired from CBS Television Network.
Lindbergh is survived by his wife, Dr. Evelyn Metoyer-Williams, his mother-in-law, Alnetter T. Metoyer; sister-in-law, Josie Mary Babino; adopted daughter, Linda Fay Simmons; two nephews, Todd Goudeaux (Sonia Goudeaux) and Chad Babino; two great-nieces, Ashley and Betty; great-nephew, Todd Jr.; half-brothers and half-sisters, Herschel Herring, Eisenhower Herring, Jean Herring, Faye Yarbrough, Jewel Ardoin, Mable Fleming, Betty Hadnott, Aggerthene Ballard; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Prince Hall Grand Lodge #7 Masonic Order of Burial. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gabriel Funeral Home.
