PORT ARTHUR —
Marcial (Charlie) Aleman, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.
He was born on August 26, 1923 to Eluteria Martinez Aleman and Fernando Aleman in Port Arthur, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Charlie retired from Texaco as an operator after 40 years of service. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T. R. Blanco, officiating. Entombment with Military Funeral Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 1/2 years, Lilia Flores Aleman of Port Arthur, Texas, children,
Olivia and husband Phil Vergara of Port Neches, Texas, David and wife Brenda Aleman of Humble, Texas, Carlos (Tinky) and wife Kathe Aleman of Irving, Texas, Tina and husband Larry Paquet of Missouri City, Texas, eight grandchildren, Erik Vergara and wife Mandi, Victoria, Christina and David Aleman, Carlos Aleman, Sarah and husband Chris Black, Shannon and Brent Paquet, four great grandchildren, Shelbie Vergara, Caylee Aleman, Austin Piggott and Emily Black, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Marcial Aleman, Jr. and his sister, Angelina Arciva.
