PORT ARTHUR —
Willie J. “Bootse” Holcomb, 92, of Nederland, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Magnolia Manor. She was born on August 1, 1920, to Myrtle Ayers Rhoads and Jake Rhoads, in The Grove. Mrs. Holcomb was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She liked to travel and enjoyed poetry, reading, and completing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Holcomb was a notably meticulous woman.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Holcomb and his wife, Gail, and Jeffrey Holcomb and his wife, Rhonda; daughter, Julia Gribnau and her husband, Donald; grandchildren, Kimberly Lona and her husband, Richard; Daxton Holcomb; Hannah Gigliotta and her husband, Danny; Donny Gribnau; Amy Austin and her husband, John; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Holcomb; and grandson, Trace Holcomb.
A gathering of Mrs. Holcomb’s family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
