Joyce Leger Guidry, 83, of China, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
A native and lifelong resident of China; Joyce was born February 6, 1927, to Lorance Thibodeaux and Louis Paul Leger.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ann Wiedner and her husband Mark of Seguin; sons, Michael Leger and his wife Anita of China, Floyd “Bubba” Guidry and his wife Brenda of Port Acres, and Darrell Guidry of China; sisters, Shirley Brown and her husband Bobby of China and Genevieve Graham of Colmesneil; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Floyd Guidry; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 W. Highway 90, China with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010, with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
