PORT ARTHUR —
Mr. John E. White, 84 of Port Arthur, Texas was granted his angel wings on January 22, 2013. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Mr. White had touched in some small way throughout his memorable life
Mr. White was born February 26, 1928 in Plaisance, Louisiana, to Cecile and Henry White. John spent more than 50 years of marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy White.
John was "a man that wore many hats", and could accomplish anything he put his mind to. He owned operated, White & White concrete for more than 50 years, created and edited Tri- City News and formed United Voice Players. Mr. White was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Port Arthur, TX.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy White, his son John Henry White, his sisters
Alma Kennerson, Anna Doucet, Mary Benoit and his brother, Joe White.
He leaves to cherish his legacy his sons, Michael White of Louisville, Kentucky, Elton White (Patricia) of Port Arthur, Texas, Sylvester White (Kathy) of Rowlett, Texas, Daughters Mable White of Inglewood, California, Lennetta Faye Netters (Zachary), Sandra Durgin (Charles), Carlin Ardoin (Rev. Jimmy Ardoin), all of Port Arthur, Texas, Carla Lewis of Dallas ,Texas. Children he raised, Nickademous Willams (Anita), David Riles, Anthony Jones, Tashaunt Alpough (Shrona), Amanda Scott (Joseph) of Basile, Louisiana, Tameka Doucet of Houston, Texas and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 P.M., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church with a viewing from 12 P.M. until service time with Rev. Guidry officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
