PORT ARTHUR —
Megaplay Family Fun Center has announced a bowling program for kids and families. The program offers school age students a summer of free open bowling. The free passes will be distributed to all of the area schools. This program is endorsed by the National PTA Association and the Presidential Active Life Style Award.
The goal of the program is to provide kids and parents with the opportunity of enjoying an affordable (free) summer activity that is close to home in a safe environment. The national program has been unveiled in more than 500 centers nationwide and, already, more than 6 million sign-up cards have been distributed.
The program runs from April 15 through Sept. 15. Students may pick up their sign-up cards at Megaplay Family Fun Center, 3500 Regional Drive, in Port Arthur.
“Especially now with economics being tough, and with less money for families to have for spending, we want everyone to know that Megaplay is the place for affordable close to home family fun,” Brian Cahalan, center manager, said in a press release.
Another offer this year is the family pass. For a one-time fee of $23.95, parents can register and receive the same two games at no additional charge every day of the summer that their children are getting when they bowl with them at the same time. Mom and dad and two others under the age of 18 in the household are eligible to receive this offer. To register, go to kidsbowlfree.com/megaplayfamilyfuncenter.
