PORT ARTHUR —
NEDERLAND -- The Port Arthur Memorial girls basketball stayed undefeated this
season by winning both of its pool games at Nederland's Bulldog Classic on
Friday. Memorial beat Hamshire-Fannett 53-35 in its first game Friday and Dayton
63-36 in the second.
The Lady Titans (6-0) will play Jasper in the semifinals game at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday. The winner will take on the winner of Lumberton and Nederland in the
finals at 2 p.m. while the losers will play in the third place game at 11:30
a.m.
Loren Evans led the Titans in scoring with 19 points against Hamshire-Fannett,
while sophomore Joyce Kennerson had 21 points against Dayton. Teammate Ariel
Hutchinson had 15 while Crystal Sallier and Evans each had 10 points against the
Lady Broncos.
