Memorial boys even district record, beat Sterling
The Port Arthur Memorial boys basketball team survived a late Baytown Sterling rally to win 56-54 in District 21-5A play Friday.
Memorial (12-10, 2-2) was led by sophomore post Dorian Chatman, who had 17 points, and junior point guard Torian Lott, who had 16.
The Titans will travel to Beaumont West Brook at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

PN-G boys take down Vidor
VIDOR — The Port Neches-Groves boys basketball team beat Vidor 49-39 in District 20-4A play on Friday.
PN-G (8-13, 3-2) was led in scoring by Brandon Pham, who had 17. Teammate Ramil Glorioso had 11 points while A.J. Smith added 12. The Indians also went 22 for 25 at the free-throw line.
The Indians will host Beaumont Ozen at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial girls stay atop 21-5A, beat Sterling
BAYTOWN — The Port Arthur Memorial girls won their second straight district game, beating Baytown Sterling 71-38 on Friday in District 21-5A play.
Memorial (21-4, 5-1) was led by sophomore guard Joyce Kennerson, who had 29 points. Teammates Antonishia Beasley and Dorcieve Davis each had 10 points while Loren Evans added six rebounds.
The Lady Titans will host Beaumont West Brook at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
