PN-G softball beats district-leading LC-M
PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves softball team got a huge victory Tuesday, beating District 20-4A leaders Little Cypress-Mauriceville 2-1 at The Reservation.
Brittnee Moore picked up the victory for the Lady Indians, while batterymate Ryanne Lunceford scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh.
It’s the second time this season PN-G has beaten LC-M, and the Lady Indians stayed tied with Livingston for the fourth and final playoff spot in 20-4A.
PN-G will travel to Vidor on Friday.

Memorial softball falls to Channelview
CHANNELVIEW — The Port Arthur Memorial softball team lost 11-0 to Channelview on Tuesday in District 21-5A play.
Memorial (1-16, 0-7) will host Beaumont West Brook at 6:45 p.m. Friday.
Nederland stays perfect under Barrow
NEDERLAND — The Nederland softball team won for the sixth straight time under new head coach Monte Barrow, beating Lumberton 10-0 Tuesday in District 20-4A play.
Nederland has now scored 42 runs and given up just three in six games with its new head coach. MayKayla Kelly picked up the victory for the Lady Bulldogs in six innings, while Nicole Matise had a pair of doubles.
Nederland (17-6, 9-3) remains tied with Vidor for second place in 20-4A and sits a game behind LC-M for first. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Beaumont Ozen at 7 p.m. Friday.
