LA PORTE —
The Port Arthur Memorial boys finished the regular season on a high note, beating La Porte 55-50 on Tuesday in District 21-5A play.
Memorial (18-12, 8-4) celebrated the return of head coach Travis Williams to the bench by giving him a victory with a solid defensive effort. Junior guard Torian Lott led the team with 21 points while sophomore Dorian Chatman had 13. Teammate Darren Williams added 10 points while sophomore Jaylen Poledore had six.
The Titans are the fourth-place team from 21-5a and will face District 22-4 champion Pearland in the bidistrict round of the playoffs at a site and time to be determined.
