Blake Hale rallied on the back nine for a two-under-par 34 and posted a 75 to win boys 16-18 in the First Tee Fall Junior played at Babe Zaharias. Hale edged Seve Long by a stroke. Other flight winners were Danielle Thammasila (96 in Girls 16-18), Dillon Hebert (83 in Boys 14-15) and Thaine Tillie (77 in Boys 12-13). In the 9-hole divisions, Avery LeBlanc won Boys 8-11, Flight 1 with a 40, Collin Tedora won Boys 8-11, Flight II with a 50 and Karlei Hemler won Girls 8-11 with a 43 . . . When Chris Stroud returns to the PGA Tour next week for the Turning Stone Resort Championship in New York, it will be his first competitive round since Aug. 27 at the Barclays. Stroud is currently No. 128 on the money list with $533,890 in official winnings. He needs to move up three places to avoid a return trip to Q School. After Turning Stone, there are four more stops — Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Madison, Miss., and Lake Buena Vista, Fla. — in the PGA’s Fall Series . . . Dukes, a Beaumont resident and linebacker on the Houston Oilers 1960 and 1961 AFC champions, was killed in an automobile accident June 16, 2008.
