One of Beaumont’s most popular restaurants for live music continues to be Goodfellas, and a list of great musicians are on tap this week.
Performing from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., today is Todd Howard, while Saturday’s showcase features singer-songwriter Rick Danna.

- Beaumont Civic Center
Summer isn’t complete until Kids Fest occurs, and the annual fun summer event for children and families returns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, inside the Beaumont Civic Center in downtown Beaumont.
Admission is free for children ages 12 and younger, with a free ticket which can be obtained at Valero convenience store locations across the Golden Triangle. Admission is $5 for adults at the door.
All of the great fun families have come to expect will be part of this year’s Kids Fest event. Also appearing will be one of the greatest superheroes in Marvel Comics, Iron Man.
- Dixie Dance Hall
A great concert is on tap this Thursday night at the Dixie Dance Hall in Beaumont, as the duo known as Bomshel perform at this Beaumont venue.
Bomshel, the aptly named duo of Kristy Osmunson and Kelley Shepard, will blow you away with its music even more so than their looks, and will leave you begging for more. The group is touring in support of its 2009 Curb Records debut, “Fight Like a Girl.” Tickets are $15 in advance at all Florida Tans locations and admission is $20 at the door for ages 18 and older. - Isle of Capri
Rock band 38 Special, which is coming off a high profile summer tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bret Michaels, have set their sights on Lake Charles, La. with a performance at the Isle of Capri Casino. The show is at 7 p.m., Saturday, for ages 21 and older. Tickets are $35.
The band is best known for its classic hits such as “Back Where You Belong,” “Hold on Loosely,” “Second Chance,” “Somebody Like You,” and others. If you can score a ticket to this show, it is definitely worth the price of admission.
- OCP
The Orange Community Players unveiled its debut performance of “Bat Boy: The Musical” on Thursday night, and the local theater group resumes with performances at 7:37 p.m., today and Saturday, as well as next Thursday. The comedy, horror and musical event is the OCP’s season debut and is a great and affordable way to enjoy a night out with family, friends or your special someone.
