Police asking for help identifying Hillcrest Elementary burglary suspect

— Nederland police are asking for the communities help in identifying a man that broke into Hillcrest Elementary School in Nederland, stealing several items.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 11 the suspect entered the school gaining entry to several locked classrooms. Once inside he then removed a Nikon Coolpix camera, an undetermined amount of money and some food.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Nederland Police Department at (409) 722-4965.

    A 4-inch gas line in Nederland was ruptured near 12th and Atlanta at around 9:24 a.m. Tuesday. Texas Gas Company associates are on scene and have managed to shut down the leak. Nederland Fire Department is on hand as a precaution in case the gas is ignited.
    Streets around the area are being blocked as a precaution.
