This morning Isaac is looking a little more organized on radar and satellite, and is expected to become a hurricane. Although the storm has wobbled to the west, landfall projections still show southeast Louisiana as the likely target later Tuesday night according to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles. Southeast Texas, Jefferson and Orange Counties have been issued a tropical storm watch.
Expected local weather from Isaac today from NWS:
Wind gusts: These wind gusts will start on the low end in the afternoon and increase overnight tonight. 40-65 mph for south central Louisiana, 20-40 mph for southwest Louisiana, 20-30 mph for central Louisiana, and 20-30 mph for southeast Texas. These winds would be strong enough to cause scattered power outages in south central Louisiana, and isolated outages across the remainder of the region.
Storm surge: With the strong north winds, tides will run 1-3 feet below normal.
Rainfall: 2-4 inches possible in south central Louisiana, less than an inch elsewhere.
Tornadoes: a very low threat late tonight, mainly in south central Louisiana
