Port Arthur police, CPS investigate infant death

Port Arthur Police and Child Protective Services are investigating the Tuesday morning death of an infant.
Police received a 911 call about 6:30 a.m. April 19 regarding an unresponsive 2-month-old infant at 1132 Carver Terrace.
Investigation revealed the infant was not breathing when the caretaker awoke, according to a press release from PAPD. EMS was already on scene and was treating the infant when officers arrived.
The infant was later pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett and CPS was contacted regarding the death.
PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division and CPS are investigating the incident.
