Back-to-school fashion show to kick off school pride event

Central Mall will host a “Pep it Up” spirit rally and fashion show this Saturday to help local students get ready for the beginning of the new school year on Aug. 24.

“Saturday is going to be all about back-to-school fun,” Jodie Galloway, Central Mall specialty leasing and marketing manager, said. “Our back-to-school fashion show will kick off the event at 3 p.m., and we’ll have themed giveaways starting at 3 p.m. until we close.

“We’re going to have spirit poms and megaphones in all the area high school colors for our students and alumni to take pictures with and show their school pride. We want to see lots of selfies from our students this weekend, showing all their friends on social media how they’re getting ready for the beginning of school.”

Galloway said the fashion show will kick off the main festivities, but the event is “open-ended” and will carry on until Central Mall closes at 9 p.m.

Galloway said the mall retailers will have back-to-school sales and special offers to coincide with the event.

Central Mall is located at 3100 FM 365 in Port Arthur.
