Nida L. Garrett, 84, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Houston, Texas.
Nida was born June 5, 1931 in Port Arthur Texas to Frank and Irene Sheffield.  She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of First United Methodist Church in Port Neches.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Port Neches with Dr. Wesley Welborn officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.
Surviving relatives include her son, David Lee Garrett of Houston, Texas; sisters, Mildred L. Thibodeaux and husband Albert of LaBelle, Texas; Carol Ann Sheffield of West Columbia, Texas; and grandson, Matthew David Garrett of College Station, Texas.
