At approximately 4:13am on 10/14/15 the Port Arthur Fire Department received the report of a building fire in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue. When fire crews arrived the building was heavily involved with fire venting through the roof.

The fire was in the second story of 710 9th Ave. The structure has extensive damage but the fire was contained to this one space in the strip center and did not spread to the adjoining units.

One occupant was at the location at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to the occupant or fire fighters. The cause of the fire in under investigation at this time.
